   The Coop

   14 x 34"  pencil, ink.

   by Ed Tajchman

This piece is in the new works section because it's one never before published or shared online, after a while I'll move it into Gallery 2. This is the unfinished version, I kind of like it but I'll post the finished version eventually. It's a non-representational blue and red monochromatic drawing. The Coop is the name of this total dive bar (I kinda dig dark danky dive bars), near where I lived when I lived in Squirrel Hill (Pittsburgh, PA). I like to write little notes of what I'm thinking about or what strikes me while I am working on a piece. Sometimes I'll write the notes in the border of the piece or even in the piece itself. I cropped it off, but in the margins of this one was written "The Coop". Good thing too, because it's a reminder of some good (and strange) times I had there.                   Comments
